Appealing to St. Joseph in real estate matters is a popular tradition with a rich history. The practice of burying a St. Joseph statue is said to have started with Sister Theresa of Avila. She encouraged the nuns to pray to St. Joseph, the father/step-father of Jesus. Whenever she was looking for land for her convents or any other matters, she turned to St. Joseph. This tradition is still practiced today in the form of statues for assistance in selling real estate.

 

St. Joseph is the Patron Saint of real estate matters and home sales. The reason he was a carpenter who taught his step-son, Jesus, the carpentry trade and he always saw to it that Jesus was well housed.

 

The custom of burying a statue of Saint Joseph upside down in the yard while one's house is for sale goes back a long way in the United States and, as stated before, all the way back to St. Theresa of Avila. While some use a picture, most use a statue of St. Joseph. The instructions say to take up the statue of St. Joseph and dig a hole in the back yard or front yard. If there is no yard, dig a hole in a large potted plant. Bury the statue upside down, inside of a plastic bag, head downward, facing east in the hole and cover it over.When the property sells, dig up the statue, take it out of the bag and carry it with you to your new home where it should be kept in a place of honor.

 

Using the St. Joseph statue with orgone:
